The Beerbrella

by Hank Yerzimbeck on July 12, 2007

While the practicality of this little invention may be questionable at best, I have nothing but encouragement to offer to those who attempt to make drinking beer more enjoyable. If somehow this guy could work a bottle coozie into the lineup, he’d be on the right track…

Here’s a description from the inventor: Sitting in the hot sun, slaking your thirst with an ice cold beverage… my kind of day. But there’s a downside to the warming rays of the sun, they also heat your brewski bottle and that’s not a good thing. So I came up with a brilliant solution, the surprisingly simple Beerbrella! The Beerbrella conveniently clips onto your bottle, providing cooling shade as it creates your own personal beverage oasis. But sun blocking is also beer blocking so the Beerbrella pivots at it’s peak for easy bottle access.
keep up the good work pal - Hank

I think this guy is barking up the wrong tree. It is general rule that the only time a man should be enjoying a drink with an umbrella in it is when he is vacationing in a tropical location.

Can you see a bunch of guys at a baseball game “pivoting” their beerbrella’s so that they can get a drink of their $7.50 boggs? I don’t it’s going to happen.

I wrote this Patent sort of as a joke with some friends. I also thought it would be good to have a Patent to use as a sample to show people. Although there are more than FIVE (5) Patents on similar ideas, it was the title “Beerbrella” that really made this take off on the Internet.

I appreciate the fun of it all, but this comment:

Does not reflect anything I or the other inventors every said. It sounds more like something you made up.

Have fun with Beerbrella all you want - that was the point of the Patent. But don’t make up stuff and claim I said it. OK? That’s called libel.
