Last month I posted a story about Florida House of Representatives member Bob Allen who was arrested after soliciting an undercover officer for oral sex in a park bathroom. What made the story weird is that Bob didn’t want the officer to perform services on him. Mr. Allen wanted to pay the officer $20 and then perform oral sex on the officer. New documents and recordings from the July 11th incident have been released and they offer a little more insight into what happened.
Bob Allen’s Quote:
“This was a pretty stocky black guy, and there was nothing but other black guys around in the park,” Allen, who is white, told police in a taped statement after his arrest. Allen said he feared he “was about to be a statistic” and would have said anything just to get away.
From the Police Report:
Three undercover officers said they were staking out a nearby condo hoping to catch a burglar when Allen entered a park bathroom at about 3:30 p.m.
After peering over the stall a second time, Allen pushed open the door and joined Kavanaugh inside, the officer wrote. Allen muttered ” ‘hi,’ ” and then said, ” ‘this is kind of a public place, isn’t it,’ ” the report said.
According to Kavanaugh’s statement, the officer said, “do you want just [oral sex]?” and Allen replied, “I was thinking you would want one.” The officer said he then asked Allen, “but you’ll still give me the 20 bucks for that . . . and that the legislator said, “yeah, I wouldn’t argue with that.”
If Mr. Allen was so afraid of the “nothing but other black guys around in the park” why the hell was he at the park in the first place? And if he was so afraid for his well being why did he essentially trap himself by entering the rest room? The article doesn’t describe Officer Kavanaugh’s personnel appearance but I am guessing he is the “pretty stocky black guy” Mr. Allen mentioned in his statement. If Mr. Allen is so terrified of the other black guys in the park why in the hell would he enter a bathroom stall with Officer Kavanaugh? For a seven year politician Mr. Allen really doesn’t think well on his feet. Sure most people have a general dislike for cops but I can’t believe Officer Kavanaugh has nothing better to do then menace some random white guy until he offers to perform oral sex and then arrest the guy on prostitution charges.
