TIRANA (Reuters) - An Albanian fishmonger set fire to his van in a burst of anger after the national soccer team lost to the visiting Dutch side, and firefighters failed to extinguish the blaze because someone had stolen their water.
Vilson Alushi had vowed to burn his fish-delivery van if Albania failed to win a point against the Netherlands on Wednesday. Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy put paid to his hopes with a goal in injury time to end the game 1-0.
The guy made a stupid bet and he lost but he had the balls to live up to his word. For that I say, Respect. Really the funniest part of the whole story is that the firefighters made it all the way to the blaze and only then realized somebody stole their water. How does someone steal water from firefighters? More importantly how did this crack squad not realize their water had been stolen? Can you imagine if that happened here. The firefighters roll up to your burning house:
Fireman 1: Turn on the hoses!
Fireman 2: Awww Shit! Somebody stole our water again!
Fireman 1: What! Again! Fuck! Well did somebody at least bring the stuff for smores?
