Earlier this month we had a post titled Mother of the Year about a woman who was busted for snorting cocaine off her baby.
Not far behind her comes Steven King taking the crown for Father of the Year.
A Downsville man was indicted yesterday on charges that he drove drunk, heading the wrong way on Route 17, with his 2-year-old daughter unrestrained in the back seat of the car.
According to court papers, Steven J. King, 40, had an open, 24-ounce container of Bud Light with him when police stopped him shortly after 11 p.m. on Sept. 30, as he drove west in the eastbound lanes of Route 17 in the Town of Liberty. His daughter was in the back seat of the Chrysler, but she wasn’t in a car seat – or even buckled with a seat belt.
According to court papers, King was drunk, wasn’t wearing a seat belt, the car was uninsured, the inspection had expired in May, and the license plates on it belonged to a 1987 Ford.
So let’s review. Drunk driving, open container, expired tabs, no seatbelt, unrestrained child, no insurance, bad license plates, and driving against traffic. Yahtzee! This guy hit everything. The only thing he missed were drugs or a gun.
