I came across the above headline this morning and thought “Holy shit this is to good to be true!”. A story from Florida about a guy who was stabbed outside of a Mullet Festival? These kind of stories are the reason I created a series of posts titled “Floridians Are Crazy”. Riding this wave of excitement I decide I better Google the Mullet Festival and see what this thing was all about. I pictured lots of people sporting fantastic mullets, drinking Budweiser tall boys and if I was really lucky possibly a few camaros.
Imagine my disappoint when mulletfestival.com loaded up and I found out this festival has absolutely nothing to do with the “business up top, party in the back” haircut. In fact the festival is about an effing fish.
The Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival is a food, music, and arts & crafts festival that pays homage to the mullet, a bottom-dwelling fish that inhabits our local bayous.
