Sabertooth Tiger Vs. Lion

by J Diggles on October 4, 2007

A study released today found that the historic Sabertooth Tiger had a substantially weaker bite than our friend the Lion despite those monster teeth. Apparently, the old Sabertooth had to tackle it prey to the ground and bite into its soft neck for an effective kill (what a weakling right…). The author of the study even referred to the Sabertooth as having a “wimpy bite”. I don’t know about you, but a Sabertooth could bit like a mosquito with those teeth and I think it would still hurt. In fact, with money on the line, I think I would still go with the Sabertooth in a Lion fight regardless of bite power. I have to think our king the jungle would be near as scared of those teeth as I am.

Did this guy have a Sabertooth Tiger that he was able to measure the bite pressure with? Or did he just look at a lot of bones and then make a guess?

I don’t care about bite strength. When push comes to shove I am picking the animal with the big ass teeth.

I’m going with the Liger. It’s pretty much my favorite animal.

I don’t give two flying $#!+$ what that scientist said. They’re usually wrong anyway. Bite strength or not they still have killer claws with strenght and weight to back them up. Lion would look like mince meat compared to a saber-toothed. Lions already look weak when facing tigers. I’m going to make a cloneing machine (don’t ask me how) and bring back those saber-tootheds. (I know that’s not a word. Sew me) Let’s see what that scientist says then. POWER TO THE SABER-TOOTHEDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i agree with the scientist ,a male lion would not be intimidated by a sabertooth tiger.lions are more ferocious than any other large cat including tigers because they live in areas where they must fight continually ,against hyenas.elephants.other male lions and numerous other animals for food.tigers are more agressive but lions are more ferocious so when male lions confronted by tigers grow weary of tigers antics put a good whupping on them.
