Green Bean Casserole

by Mitch Martin on November 23, 2007

large_24099.jpg Green bean casserole is the greatest dish on the Thanksgiving table. Sure, turkey is good, mash potatoes are good, stuffing is good, but green bean casserole kicks all of their asses. What is not to love about green bean casserole?

Green Beans…..GOOD
Cream of Mushroom Soup…..GOOD
Cheddar Cheese…..GOOD
Water Chestnuts…..GOOD
French Fried Onions…..GOOOOOD

Honestly, I could eat this shit at least once a day, every single day. In fact, I don’t know why I don’t eat it more often. I mean it isn’t exactly rocket science to put together, but for some reason I only eat it once a year. This year we almost had a tragedy. The lady friend and I are doing the double Thanksgiving with our families and her family didn’t make any green bean casserole. Once I heard that I was on my cell phone about 0.05 seconds later calling my Mom and letting her know that if there wasn’t some green bean casserole, the proverbial shit was going to hit the fan.

It just wouldn’t be Thanksgiving without some kick ass green bean casserole.

Personally, I believe stuffing is not only the best Thanksgiving dish, but one of the best dishes ever created by men. But I have to concede that a well made green bean caserole is always delicious.

I think caserole, and the ability to make it, is why most men get married. We can’t make that shit, but we love it!
