Who let the Tiger out?

December 26th, 2007 by Baba Ganoush · 1 Comment · 3 Views

Going to the zoo on Christmas would be an interesting traditional to start. Unfortunately, an incident at the San Francisco Zoo yesterday has people thinking otherwise.

Investigators are still trying to piece together how a 300-pound Siberian tiger named Tatiana escaped enclosure. The tiger attacked three people, killing one and leaving two in critical condition in the hospital. Luckily the police were able to act quickly, shooting the tiger dead before any more harm was done.

Apparently Tatiana has a history of violence too - back in 2006 the cat bit the arm of her trainer as she stuck it through a fence for feeding.

The Seattle Times has a full article, including a side bar on other incidents involving captive animals in the U.S.

“History of violence”? It’s a fucking tiger. If I was a kick ass killing machine that was stuck in a cage all day I would be pissed off too.
