Apparently students at BYU are upset at a local Gold’s Gym because they are showing pornographic music videos in the cardio room. Has anyone ever seen a pornographic music video? If the Gold’s Gym near my house showed pornographic music videos or even just porn with a music soundtrack I would switch gyms today. The videos are so bad that one female student, Dallen Johnson, made the following statement.
“I’ve had to leave, honestly! There have been four times I’ve run out of the cardio cinema because of racy and inappropriate things being shown, things I personally view as pornography.”
I can’t stop picturing some chick on a cardio machine at the gym then a T-Pain video comes on and she just starts screaming and runs from the room covering her eyes. I have been laughing about that for the last 20 minutes. If you are like me you are probably thinking, “Okay, they must be showing MTV and these kids are just a little over sensitive.” I will agree that MTV does have a lot of videos featuring girls with short shorts dropping it like it is hot but I haven’t seen anything on that channel that I would consider porn. Okay, A Shot Of Love With Tia Tequila, boderline. Then I got to this part of the article.
Managers at Gold’s Gym told Eyewitness News today they use Gold’s TV network instead of cable channels like MTV to offer more conservative videos but can’t control individual videos that are shown.
So Gold’s Gym is already screening the videos and these Mormons are still not happy. How conservative are they? I wish the article had a list of the videos but unfortunatley they do not. The group of students claims they have collected almost 1,000 signatures and they wrote up a list of demands that Gold’s Gym has 10 days to comply with. Unfortunately like the list of videos the repurcussions that Gold’s Gym will face if they don’t meet the demands are not listed.
# No rated R movies or sexually explicit or racy PG-13 movies.
# Change the content of Gold’s Broadcasting Network or don’t show the Network.
# Keep external TV’s on decent and clean stations, or let members choose the channels themselves.
# Install blinds on the aerobics room to block the dancing, which is very provocative.
I love the first demand. A panel of adults has decided that anyone over the age of 13 can safely view a movie and yet it is to provacitive for these 18 - 22 year old college students? If Gold’s doesn’t meet the demands what are they going to do? Not show up to the gym while Gold’s still direct debits their checking accounts? Fucked there. Try to cancel the one year contract they signed with Gold’s and pay the penalty? Whoops, fucked there too.

I used to date this chick from BYU, and once when I was staying in a male dorm to visit her, those crazy Mormon boys figured out how to circumvent the BYU network server so they could access cocksucking and ass-fucking porn. I don’t think a PG-13 movie is going to violate those sensibilities.

Be careful to not generalize BYU students as mormons. That is not the case. It’s like calling all Notre Dame students Catholic when in fact they are not all Catholic.
Iam not Mormon, but they should not be scorned for having high values and demanding decency where they pay to work out. They should applauded for thier stand, go Cougars.
