No Photoshop Magic, That Big Ass Shark Is Real

January 3rd, 2008 by Mitch Martin · 3 Comments · 240 Views

I posted this picture almost a year ago under the title Big Ass Shark Vs. Little Ass Boat. I can remember when I made the post that there was a lot of speculation about whether or not it was real. I talked to a lot of my friends (the only people reading Tasty Booze at the time) and they all thought there was some kind of photoshop tomfoolery afoot.

I came across an article in the Daily Mail today which explains the circumstances of the photo and proves that it is real and the image was captured by a photographer. Apparently scientist Trey Snow was hoping to use the kayak to steathly track a group of great white sharks located near South Africa. He happened to turn around a one point and found that this 13 ft. behemoth had gotten the drop on him. Photographer Thomas Peschak was on a nearby boat and was able to capture the image.

As I said in my original post, I would have been shitting my pants if I had turned around and found that big ass son of a bitch behind me.
