Costco is going to partner with Gordon Biersch to brew its own line of beers to be sold at the members-only wholesale retailer.
What I want to know is, what took so long? I mean beer has a pretty good profit margin and people will buy beer no matter what it tastes like (see: Steel Reserve) and how cheap it is (see: Hamms). And since it’s Costco, I’m sure you’ll only be able to buy these in 36-cases or in 40 oz. bottles, and for cheap!
It’s probably a good idea to get someone in the mix that knows that they’re doing, thus the partnership with Gordon Biersch. Although, I have to be honest, I’ve never really liked any of their beers. I always felt like I was getting ripped off for an inferior product, when what I really wanted was a good tasting locally brewed beer.
With that said, I would like to offer up the services of TastyBooze. We can put our expert beer knowledge and tasting ability to the test and let you know if we’ll be buying your beer in bulk.

I am all for cheap booze but I just think it would be weird to drink a beer with the generic Kirkland Signature or whatever their bullshit brand is on the bottle.

I have had Kirkland Signature Wine, Champagne, and Vodka. (and I know Kirkland Signature Scotch exists)
I can’t wait for Kirkland Signature Malt Liquor and Kirkland Signature Jello Shots.
