Driver Takes the Rail-road Less Traveled

February 21st, 2008 by Baba Ganoush · 1 Comment · 12 Views

Three day weekends are usually a primetime for drunk drivers, although the blood tests are still pending on Steven Stein, I’m willing to wager just about everything I have that it’s going to come back above the legal limit.

tunnelcar.jpgOn early Saturday morning of President’s Day weekend, Stein was on his way home to Vancouver, Wash., from a night out in Portland. The 54-year-old apparently thought he could take a shortcut with his white Pontiac through a MAX (Portland’s public transportation system) train tunnel, either that or he was trying to avoid the cops by taking the road less traveled (at least by cars). After driving for more than a mile through a tunnel hundreds of feet underground, Stein’s car finally got stuck. Even worse… Stein wasn’t even headed in the right direction home!

Original story and video: KOIN News 6.

My favorite part of the video is when the newscaster suggests that the driver may have been under the influence.
