Nubrella? What’s wrong with the old umbrella?

by Baba Ganoush on February 26, 2008

Sure everyone gets a little frustrated when a bad storm comes through your city, town or unincorporated county. You’re likely going to get a little wet, that’s life. Even an umbrella is only going to stop so much of the water. Worst case scenario is that a gust of wind is going to come sweep through and turn your umbrella inside out, mess up your hair or blow off your hat/toupee.

nubrella.jpgAlan Kaufman thought this was a problem worth addressing, so he invented the Nubrella. The Nubrella essentially looks like an oversized football helmet in bubble form and is hyped as the “ultimate weather protector.” With its cool hands-free shoulder-straps the Nubrella reminds me of a quarantine suit, as if you are protecting yourself from the deadly virus that is rain!

The web site is filled with more propaganda touting the Nubrella as the next best thing in weather protection (in your face, umbrella hat!). Even some of the pictures make the Nubrella look absolutely ridiculous, including the prostitute business woman posing on a street corner or the suited-up man on his bike.

Check out the hilarity here or “act now and be one of the first to own this truly fascinating product for $59.99.”

That has got to be the most ridiculous thing I have seen. I would rather get wet before I walk around with that bubble on my head.
