Showing up to your DUI hearing with a buzz is no big deal but showing up with possible alcohol poisoning is a whole different ball game. Joseph T. Longfellow, 35, was given a Breathalyzer after his his attorney told the judge that he appeared to be intoxicated. The Breathalyzer rang in at a 0.32 which is about 4 times the legal limit here in the great state of Washington. The judge ordered the guards to place Longfellow into custody but they refused after paramedics said that he should be taken to hospital to prevent possible alcohol poisoning.
I don’t want a guy to die nor do I have any experience as a paramedic but if a dude manages to make it to court with a 0.32 BAC chances are he has done it before and he is going to survive.
Nowhere does it say how Longfellow go to the hearing? Did he perhaps…drive?

“about 4 times the legal limit”
Pet peeve: There is no “legal limit” for BAC. The 0.08 limit exist for DUIs only. I can be .32, .40 or .67 and as long as I’m not causing a public nuisance, it’s all good, legally. (i might be dead though…)
