Spring seasonal brew: Scallop Stout

by Baba Ganoush on February 15, 2008

After being emotionally disturbed by that previous post (thank you Mitch, for ruining my weekend already), I felt like I needed to post something… and fast! Thank you Metro.co.uk!

There’s a brewer in the United Kingdom that has created a special beer, brewed with scallops. The Scallop Stout has a bit offishbeer.jpg a smokey taste, a hint of the sea, but no “fishy-ness.” Sure…

The 3.7 per cent stout, which is creamy like Guinness, is made using traditional methods but with a handful of scallops thrown in for an hour.

I’ve never been a huge fan of stouts in the first place, and I don’t think this is going to do anything to change that. Maybe the worst result of this will be someone experimenting more with their beer. I can only imagine… maybe that previous post from Mitch isn’t that bad after all.

I like a good stout but why use scallops? Why not use something tasty like Sea Bass?
