Thomas James Anthony Wilson, 25, accidentally got on the internet, then accidentally used his credit card to pay the $35 access fee to “Sunshine Boys” and then accidentally downloaded 8,742 child porn pictures. No seriously, it was all an accident.
Wilson a police officer was arrested in 2003 during massive sting operation by U.S. Customs and FBI agents after they tracked his credit card and found he had purchased access to a child porn site called “Sunshine Boys”. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison but that prison term has been suspended after Wilson’s lawyer (obviously the smoothest talking son of a bitch in the world) successfully argued that it was all an accident.
Wilson’s defence barrister Craig Eberhardt told the court his client had not purposefully sought out child abuse images when he downloaded pornography files from the internet. He suggested Wilson may have viewed some of it as a way to deal with his own sexuality as a young man.
How much porn do you have to download to “accidentally” end up with 8,742 young boy child porn pictures? What is the ratio? It must be at least 5,000 to 1. I honestly can’t believe that any rational person bought this argument. One or two, okay fine, I will buy the mistake defense but eight-fucking-thousand!? I am pretty sure there is nothing in this world that you can accidentally do 8,000 times.
