When things aren’t going your way and you need a little help, one of the fail-safe practices is to appeal to the Patriot inside of us all. No, not the New England Patriots, the Patriotism that comes along with being an American and proud citizen of the U.S.A.
This is exactly what Kristy Lee Cook did on American Idol Tuesday night. Having to choose a song from her birth year, KLC went with Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the U.S.A.” Effing brilliant. It reminded me of her audition performance of “Amazing Grace,” with just the right amount of country twang. While other contestants were criticized for their poor song selection and not challenging themselves, Kristy Lee was met with positive feedback from all the judges.
The American public and TastyBooze nation responded accordingly. On last night’s results show, KLC was safe from elimination and not even in the bottom three! Not sure what the theme is for next week, but hopefully it allows Kristy to shine again, possibly by singing “Born in the U.S.A.” or maybe just go with the National Anthem.
