Kristy Lee Cook has survived another week on “American Idol.” However, it was the same old story as last week, with Cook hovering on the brink in the bottom two - this week with rocker Amanda Overmyer. Obviously the power of the TastyBooze nation is keeping KLC alive. To her credit though, her performance was much better this week and some of the other finalists are starting to fault. Overmyer, for example, is pretty much a one-trick pony as a raspy-voiced rocker…her chances of actually winning it all were slim to none.
We’re down to the top 10 for next week. Last night they also mentioned a couple of the mentors that will be joining the cast on “American Idol” in the coming weeks, including Mariah Carey and Neil Diamond. I think everyone knows how much I like Mariah already, but I might actually consider watching the Neil Diamond-focused show - he has so many classic and awesome songs. Maybe Kristy Lee can put a little country-twang on “Sweet Caroline.” Until next week…
