Across the country universities and colleges have all sorts of crazy traditions, rituals and celebrations. Well, I just found out about something at UCLA that should be adopted nation-wide.
During finals week at UCLA on Wednesday night, Bruin co-eds strip down to their underwear and go for a little run through campus. The Undie Run is still a fairly new tradition in southern California, apparently it came about back in 2002 when a group of students were looking for another way to mark finals week since the “Midnight Yell” was canceled (whatever the fuck that is).
The LAist has some pictures from the event this year, as well as some from past Undie Runs. I have a feeling this is where I’ll be spending most of my morning.
Original Story: LAist Undie Run.

The college I went to, St. Mary’s College of Maryland, has the yearly event on May Day, May 1st, at noon, when a fairly large number of students (about 100 or so out of a total student body of about 1700)ride their bikes across campus completely nude and then go skinny dipping in the river. Quite a sight to see!! Though I’m sure seeing Southern California girls running around in their undies is quite impressive as well!!!

At Michigan we had the Naked Mile, ran annually by graduating Seniors the last night of finals. And it’s usually still COLD. Gives a new meaning to Go Blue!
