Rumor has it that it’s going to be a Mariah Carey themed episode for American Idol tonight. The Top 7 will perform tonight, which coincides with Mariah’s album release of E=MC^2.
They’ve done this is the past (Gwen Stefani/No Doubt), where the contestants can choose between a song by the artist or a library of songs that inspired them. Mariah Carey is just crazy enough to make everyone perform a song from her new album though, so we might have seven different performances of “Touch My Body.” Or she could just mentor the idols remotely, probably wearing some lingerie in a hyperbolic chamber.
The genre will probably be toughest for the men. But, like I said last week, a female will probably be going home. Although, I have a good feeling about Kristy Lee Cook. There are plenty of Mariah songs that she could add her hint of country twang to make original, as long as she doesn’t attempt to hit those signature Mariah Carey notes that only dogs can hear, KLC should cruise to next week. That is, of course, if TastyBooze is behind her and racking up the votes! Remember to do your part and phone/text in your votes for Kristy Lee Cook.

I have a feeling KLC is going to be back in the bottom 3.
