Mary Not A Virgin? Christians Aren’t Going To Like This.

Paul Verhoeven is looking to piss off Christians in a major way. The director of Basic Instinct has written a book that claims that Jesus was not the son of a virgin. Mr. Verhoeven’s book claims that Mary was actually raped by a Roman soldier during a Jewish uprising in Galilee. As you can imagine Christians don’t like these kind of shenanigans.

Catholic League President Bill Donohue called Verhoeven’s claim “laughable.” “Here we go again with idle speculation grounded in absolutely nothing,” Donohue told FOXNews.com. “He has no empirical evidence to support his claim, which is why they say ‘may have.’”

Is Mr. Donohue suggesting that he does have empirical evidence that Mary was a virgin? Those are strong words from a man that believes in a story book about a talking snake and a man that rises from the dead and then ascends to heaven. Can he show me some “empirical evidence” for any of that? Let’s not nit pick on details. How about some “empirical evidence” for the imaginary friend that Mr. Donohue is convinced created everything around him, cares about the outcome of sporting events and can keep track of the prayers of a billion people?

This is like Mr. Verhoeven writing a book about blue eggs and ham and Mr. Donohue arguing that the eggs aren’t blue they are green. Either way it doesn’t fucking matter because the eggs are a figment of someone’s imagination.

    Where did you come from then, apes? Seriously, that’s what you believe? Where did apes come from then, and if we evolved from them, why are some still here?

    Glad to know you just knock people’s faith…you know, since humans are so high and powerful.

    No more reading this blog for me. Just stay on your looney left side of the aisle, please.

    @Patrick

    I wasn’t trying knock your faith. I am an equally opportunity offender and think all religions are ridiculous.

    I was simply trying to point out the stupidity of calling a person’s argument invalid due to a lack of empirical evidence when your own argument or belief lacks the exact same empirical evidence.

    It is no different then you and I arguing about whether garden fairies are purple or green and one of us citing a lack of empirical evidence to disprove the other.

    NOTE: I am firmly in the purple camp.
