Apparently the Alka-Seltzer Morning Reliefs aren’t selling well so Alka-Seltzer has decided to try a catchier name to grab the attention of the week day hangover demographic. Straight from the Alka-Seltzer F.A.Q.page Alka-Seltzer Wake-Up Call promises:

Alka-Seltzer Wake-Up Call!™ packs a maximum strength pain reliever and caffeine into a refreshing citrus effervescent product that is gentle on your stomach. It has proven ingredients to relieve headache and fatigue associated with hangover.

Ironically the old Morning Reliefs have almost the exact same product description. Chances of these working is probably about 3.7% however the chances that I will spend $5 on them to find out is about 98.7%.

Gimmick or not I will drop a little hangover wisdom on you that has been proven effective in the Tasty Booze hangover labs (read the living room couch on Sunday morning). It is a little red pill called Excedrin Tension Headache. Two simple pills, no fizzy bullshit, that have caffeine and some kind of tension reliever that will give you the boost you need to get your dead, hungover ass off the couch and do something on a Sunday. Honcho and I swear by these things. We have both woken up, probably still drunk, and made zombie like runs to the store to replenish the Tension Headache supply after a long weekend on the booze train.

It’s almost Memorial Day weekend and you and I both know that most likely means, three consecutive nights of boozing. So the choice is yours. You can try to the latest fizzy gimmick bullshit (I probably will) or you can stick to what works and just buy yourself a bottle Tension Headaches.
