If you’re going out for more of a fine-dining experience, you likely aren’t going to have a wide range of selection of beers to choose from to accompany your over priced dinner. Usually you’re lucky to have more than a couple draft options and a handful of bottled varieties.
Well, YumSugar (don’t ask why I was there) seems to think there’s a trend of restaurants expanding their beer lists, to rival a wine list, for consumers to pair beers with their meals or courses. This can only mean good things. Restaurants are even going as far enough to hire beer sommeliers to make the appropriate matches of beer and food. I don’t really think that’s necessary, since beer goes with just about everything.
I’ve also noticed that many people are starting to change up the terminology for micro-brews to “craft beers.” Apparently, Craft Beer is also supposed to be a trend for this year too.
Even though we’re almost halfway through the year, these two trends can only mean that good things are to come for the rest of 2008. Cheers, bitches!
