Canadians get shit for a number of reasons, maybe that’s what leads them to drinking so much alcohol or it could just be that there isn’t much else to do when it’s cold as fuck outside 10 months of the year.
The Canadian Press (Canada’s version of the Associated Press, I assume) is reporting today that beer remains the drink of choice for Canadians, in both volume and dollar value. Although its lead has been slipping since 1997 when beer accounted for 52 percent of alcohol sales, this year the number sits at 47 percent. Wine has been the main reason for beer’s slow decline in market share, as apparently Canadians are attempting to class it up a bit… because we all know, nothing goes better with a fine denim on denim wardrobe than wine straight from the box.
We’ll just assume this photo, courtesy of Zenwaiter, was taken back in the good ol’ beer days of 1997.
