Getting into a war with your roommate is always a dangerous proposition. It can definitely be a good way to teach them a lesson, but you have to think about how they are going to take it. I saw the aftermath of a prank similar to this in college. My buddies came back from the bars one night and found out the hard way that someone had dumped a Costco size jug of olive oil on their tiled kitchen floor.
