Clay Bennett, I Hope You Rot In Oklahoma City

July 3rd, 2008 by Baba Ganoush · 4 Comments · 22 Views

Yesterday was a sad day for Seattle sports fans. One Clay Bennett took away the Seattle Supersonics to Oklahoma City. The City of Seattle and the Sonics ownership came to a settlement in the lease agreement for Key Arena, allowing the Sonics to relocate to Oklahoma City. The Seattle Times has more details on the situation.

Although we’ve already started to adopt the Portland Trailblazers as our new home team, this was still a sad day for Seattle…losing the only major professional sports team to bring a national championship to the city (no offense Seattle Storm). So many classic memories and feelings are summed up in this video:

Clay Bennett, you’ve just received the Douchebag of the Week honors. Asshole.

Fuck that. I am sad the Sonics are leaving also but the fans in Seattle have no one to blame except Howard Schultz.

The fucker started Starbucks for fucks sake and he sold the team because the city wouldn’t cough up $50 million. He could have paid that money without even denting his checking account. He obviously didn’t go to the “Paul Allen School For Owning a Sports Team”.

Then the SOB turned around and sold the team to the one guy that everyone knew wanted to move the team from the day he showed interest in it.

Why has no one picked up on this?

Baba, I thought you HATED the NBA?
I feel like you should feel ambivalent at best.

    @ Mitch
People have picked up on this and we hate him. However, Shultz is the only person that can save the Sonics now. He could come out the hero in the end with his pending lawsuit.
