Maybe the tiara is throwing off her game because it looks to me like Elyse Umemoto, 23, is getting her ass kicked. You would think that in this day and age with MySpace and Facebook a 23 year old would realize that anytime you take a naked/jackass picture it will end up on the internet. However it looks like this Miss Washington 2007 and Miss America runner-up is going to learn her lesson the hard way.

The rest is talent and interviews, with questions that range from “What’s your opinion on the federal policy on stem cell research?” to “Should the UN impose sanctions on Zimbabwe?” I know because I’ve been a judge… and the only thing you win is scholarship. Some of these girls have multiple degrees at 21 years old - I got to interview a girl who was finishing her PhD in oncology.
SECOND: This could cost Miss Washington her crown. They sign an agreement with the Miss America organization not to appear in photos like these…

All I’m saying is that the winners as of late always turn out to be not that “classy”, and they end up with some stunt like this. Maybe the idea is to get attention and they are certainly getting it out of this competition. Everybody wants to do it the Paris Hilton way.
