Fantasy Football: You Got Romo’d

by J Diggles on October 17, 2008

Injuries, injuries, injuries.  It happens and its happened a lot this season.  Tony Romo and Joseph Addai were just the flavor of the week.  And personally, I am not that upset because I picked up Dommy Rhodes right away, only to find out later that a tender hammy could keep out Addai for up to 4 weeks (not to mention I told you to sit JoJo).  Christmas came early to my Darren McFadden hell.

Last week I told you McNabb was going to dominate even though all his teammates were in street clothes.  And he did, with 280 yards, 2 TDs and 1 pick (Winner).  I also told you to sit the entire Seattle Seahawks team and I hope you listened as they were only able to muster 177 total yards on offense (Winner).  However, Braylon Edwards had an awesome day (Loser) and Zach Miller was merely average (Loser).  Season: 13-14-3

Start QB Jeff Garcia: Starter, not a starter, doesn’t really matter.  TB has the weapons whoever is at the helm.  And more importantly they are playing Seattle’s “unique” style of defense.  And most importantly, Mr Garcia is not even a little bit interested in becoming a backup again. Diggles line: 237 passing yards, 15 rushing yards, 2 TDs, 0 Picks.

Start TE Heath Miller: He’s coming off his first solid game of the season, a week of rest, and his blocking duties against the miserable front line of the Bungals is likely to be minimal.  Plus he has just pissed me off too much already this season to continue much longer.  Diggles line: 6 catches, 51 yards, 1 TD.

Start RB Steve Slaton: Detriot…Diggles line: 127 yards from scrimage, 2 TDs.

Sit RBs Rudi Johnson/Kevin Smith: Not even worth the RB3 slot if you have one.  Grab a Warrick Dunn or Sammy Morris instead.  Total carries are going to be low because the Lions will be playing from behind.  And they will be splitting them anyway.  Diggles line: 89 total yards, 0 TDs.

Sit WR Randy Moss: It’s time to give up.  I know he had a great Week 5, but it was just a glimmer from the past.  For those of you who took him in the first round, I am sorry.  It is almost worse in retrospect then taking Brady, because at least you can drop Brady.  But Matt Cassell is a disaster.  I know Denver isn’t known for their defense, but to build back Cassell’s confidence it is going to be a lot of running and short passes.  Diggles line: 4 catches, 62 yards, 0 TDs.
