Some brilliant bastard here in Washington State has pulled off what has to be the simplest and most environmentally friendly robbery escape of all time. I don’t want to get too far ahead of myself but the son-of-a-bitch floated away on an inner tube.
At about 11 a.m. Tuesday morning an unidentified man approached a security guard that was carrying bags of money from the bank into the armored car. The robber confronted the guard, hit him with pepper spray and then grabbed the cash.
Instead of the cliche getaway driver/car chase escape this crafty asshole ran on foot to the nearby Skykomish River where he hopped on a waiting inner tube and floated away.
The bastard got away! The cops have no idea how far he floated or if he met up with some one further down the river. It takes some big brass balls to jack an armored car and then hop into an inner tube to make your escape. On top of it all the bastard did it with a zero carbon footprint. Even Al Gore has got to love that.
