LegendsOfBeer.com has put together a pretty solid list of the 12 most common beer myths and why they are bullshit. Like I said the list is solid but there are a couple that I feel the need to comment on.
Myth #4: Corona beer contains urine
This was a nasty rumor claiming that Mexican brewery workers were relieving themselves into the beer. Allegedly, the rumor was spread by a Heineken distributor and was only refuted following a lawsuit by Corona.
I can see how #4 here gained some traction. I’ve never heard that Corona actually contained piss I’ve just always thought and heard that Corona tasted like piss.
Myth #7: The best beers have green bottles
Another myth that circulated imported beers. Brown glass is the best color to protect beer from light, which is why most beers are bottled with it. A shortage of brown glass in Europe during the last century led to many breweries using green glass to bottle their beer - therefore, green bottles represented imported beer for many years and people incorrectly assumed the color indicated a better beer.
I don’t know who started #7 but it’s an absolute load of horseshit. Every green bottled beer I’ve ever tried has tasted like skunky-ass. And yes Heineken, I’m talking about you.
Myth #9: You can’t get a hangover from drinking organic beer
If only being eco-friendly was this rewarding! This myth is based on the idea that organic beer is cleaner or purer than other beer, but there’s no existing proof that it manages to avoid giving hangovers when consumed in sufficient quantities.
Really!? All the bullshit about “organic food this” or “organic food that” isn’t enough? Now the food hippies have to go and start fucking around with beer? Alcohol is alcohol and this is nothing but a blatant scam to get people to pay and extra $3 a six-pack.

Saying something that is comprised entirely of urine, contains urine, is redundant.
Corona does taste like piss. And as far as the bottle color goes, I was pretty sure that was related to the type of beer it is. Pale Ale’s are usually kept in lighter colored bottles (Green), lagers are kept in darker colors (Brown). Maybe that’s just bullshit.
Chris wrote..”Maybe that’s just bullshit.” yeah not far off..
some obvious examples would be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Anchor Steam, (brown bottle) … Pilsner Urquell, Heineken (green bottle).
The truth is, green and clear bottles are more aesthetically pleasing to the consumer. But the hazard there is easy skunking (not skanking in this case) by UV light.
ha ha, corona tastes like piss? you morons actually tasted real piss, FAIL.
