Fantasy Football: Playoffs? PLAYOFFS???

by J Diggles on December 5, 2008

It’s time for the playoffs…..and I hope you made it.  Every move now is that much more magnified and at least in my leagues, no one gets a bye week.

Start QB Matt Cassel: You probably picked him on a flier early in the season to be your backup to Eli Manning, Rivers or Cutler.  And also you wanted to keep him away from the poor Tom Brady owner.  Well, Cassel has quickly become a fantasy gem.  Slight inconsistent, but still a gem.  And this is the week.  It is time to finally sit your 3rd round pick in favor of the soon to be very rich Cassel.  The Seattle defense has proved nothing but inept, and that will continue.  Diggles line: 302 Pass yards, 3 TDs, 1 pick.

Start RB Tim Hightower: He hasn’t quite panned out how we all thought after stealing the starting job in AZ out from under Edge.  Again, however, football is about matchups and he is playing the defenseless Rams.  He will continue to start at least for another week and honestly I don’t see Arrington ever winning this job.  Tim has the skills, but his downfall has been in small part due to the pass happy Warner offense.  This week, look for AZ to destroy their fellow NFC Wester, and actually run the ball throughout the second half. Diggles line: 89 yards rushing, 16 yards receiving, 2 TDs.

Sit RB Brian Westbrook: It’s Philly versus the Giants.  It’s gonna be physical and it is going to be a grinder.  Unfortunately for the Eagles, they don’t know how to grind.  After all these years, they still have no idea how to run the ball effectively.  And unfortunately for Westbrook, he can no longer play physical.  Between the knee, ankle and everything else, I don’t see him finishing the game. Diggles line: 27 rushing yards, 42 passing yards, 0 TDs.

Sit WR Braylon Edwards: I hope you found your replacement for him weeks ago and have been sitting him ever since.  It’s over.  It’s over.  Before he was inconsistent, but at least their was the chance he would blow up.  With Ken Dorsey throwing the ball, no longer.  Diggles line: 32 receiving yards, 0 TDs.

Start DEF Indianapolis: They have been above average all season and Peyton better buy them all something nice for it.  This week you have Cincinnati.  I smell a defensive TD! Diggles line: a lot of dominating and about 13 points.
