What Was Dumber

by J Diggles on December 10, 2008

Two things happened yesterday that seemed dumb to me.  And as I read more, they just seemed to get dumber and dumber.  So, to the readers, which was dumbest?

- Auto Bailout Deal
“Congressional leaders and White House officials agreed in principle Tuesday on a $15 billion bailout of U.S. automakers.”  That seems like a lot of money being sent to US car companies who refuse to update the quality, design and performance of their vehicles even though they have been getting their asses handed to them for 15 years.  The agreement does force the CEO’s to sell their jets though, which is nice.

- Illinois Governor Sells Senate Seat
“Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich was roused from bed and arrested Tuesday after prosecutors said he was caught on wiretaps audaciously scheming to sell Barack Obama’s vacant Senate seat for cash or a plum job for himself in the new administration.”  These wiretaps were set on his home phone, which he blatantly used to try to sell the seat.  Better yet, the Gov knew he was under investigation for alleged hiring fraud and that his phones might be tapped.

So, what was dumber?
