Am I Missing Something Here?

by Mitch Martin on January 13, 2009

Do Target gift cards increase in value after purchase? Why the fuck would you pay more than $25 for a $25 gift card and then wait a week for it to show up? I’m assuming if you want the gift card you must live in the general vicinity of a Target so why the fuck wouldn’t you just drive your ass there and buy one? That way you get the gift card for $25 face value (novel fucking concept) and you get the instant gratification of holding said gift card in your hot little hands.

See :

MS Live search and Ebay have this ‘cash back’ deal; you could buy that gift card for $25.02, get 35% (!!) from MS ($8.75) and still have the card. It’s win-win, except for Microsoft.

(this would be assuming that you clicked through to that auction via live search)

I mentioned this to FrankTheTank at dinner the other day, and he had some explanation that involved ebay promotional somethingorothers…maybe he can explain.
