Honestly, I’ve never been much of a long-term planner. One or two-weeks at a time, that’s how I like to take things. Sure there’s a few exceptions, but for the most part thinking about something that’s coming up more than a month away…I don’t bother.
Well, I have found an exception: The World Series of Beer Pong (WSOBP). Only a couple weeks ago, the WSOBP held their 4th annual tournament. Sure I’ve heard about the event in year’s past, even posted about it on TastyBooze. It was sort of a pipedream to be involved, but dream no more, it’s happening!
Last week, I met a friend-of-a-friend who had just returned from Vegas - he had participated in the tournament among doing “other things” in Vegas. He spoke of the craziness, the mayhem, the douchebags, etc. of the WSOBP tournament. Now, it’s my goal to be at the WSOBP V, in Las Vegas representing TastyBooze. I can guarantee we will not win, but nevertheless, we will have participated.
Today the journey begins. No more flip cup, only beer pong. Planning and recruiting will take place. Practice nights and hopefully satellite tournaments will be entered. Ping pong balls will be purchased, destroyed, then purchased again. A practice table will be set up at home, and used frequently. The journey will be documented on TastyBooze, check back for updates as the year goes on…

Sweet Christ, it sounds beautiful. I want in.
I went to the WSOBP II. It was really drunken and lots of fun. You don’t actually have to qualify, you can just pay to play. However, if you win a satellite tournament you can go for free.
I want a daily drinking log with lots of pictures. I am now living thru you.
I am now officially living thru you. I want pictures, and daily updates. Practice schedules, the works.
