A man who was car-jacked in Columbus, Ohio, helped bust the criminals red-handed with the help of text messaging. After being car-jacked at gun-point, the man went to drown his sorrows with some friends.
The group came up with an idea to text their friend’s phone, which had been taken along with the car. Pretending as if his friend still had his phone, they texted the thieves with an invitation to meet up later with some “hot chicks” and drugs. The thieves took the bait and exchanged texts back-and-forth, until they had a agreed upon location and time to meet-up. Later that night, instead of hot chicks and drugs, the criminals were met by the police - caught red-handed in the stolen car and with the man’s phone.
In defense of the criminals, I think it’s fair to say that when you receive a booty-call via text, you jump on it no questions asked! That’s just common sense.
