What a horrible, shitty idea this is. It seems that New Line is actually thinking of making a full length, live action MacGyver movie. Now, I have a theory as to how this monstrosity may have occurred. The man behind it, Dino De Laurentiis, is like 145 years old. OK, 89, but still. I think, in his senile dementia, he saw a few of SNL’s MacGruber sketches, saw how big a reaction they got, and decided to get a movie going. No one at New Line had the heart to tell him the truth, and you KNOW Richard Dean Anderson isn’t busy. And there you go, a 100 million dollar debacle.
They already have the goddamn trailer out!
