For those of you who aren’t hardcore gamers, this week is the Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 or Gamer Heaven. Very few things from the convention make it into the mainstream media, unless one of the big three (Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony PlayStation) announce new consoles or some new accessory that manages to take the stigma away from guys who spend too many hours playing with their joystick.
Yesterday, Microsoft’s big announcement was the Project Natal - a new device that tracks the movement of a players hands, feet and hand as the controller. Essentially Project Natal is like the Wii without the different variations of the controller and exactly like the EyeToy, a similar motion-detecting camera that came out for the PlayStation 2 about five years ago.
Microsoft is obviously trying their hardest at stealing some of the Nintendo Wii’s market, unfortunately it’s probably going to be too little too late. Maybe people remember when Microsoft tried to do this with the introduction of the Zune. “What’s a Zune?” You may ask…Exactly!

Stupid.. I think its to late for microsoft to try that. Ive used the eyetoy on the ps2 ages ago and I got bored of it, and me playing it on the 360 wont make me like it anymore. Im an all out ps3 user and I am happy there working on their stuff and not trying to steal outdated ideals.
