To celebrate their 50th anniversary the Insurance Institute for Highway Saftey went ahead and crash tested a 1959 BelAir against a 2009 Malibu. If you hear some wiley old timers talking about the good old days when “they used to build them like tanks” you should tell them to watch this video. The crash dummy in the Malibu suffers only minor leg injuries while the crash dummy in the BelAir dies instantly.
