It took a while to find but I knew there had to be at least one ridiculous drinking story from the holiday weekend. Some assclown in Arizona named Joseph Cummings managed to deliver.
Cummings got pulled over by a couple of deputies at about 3:30 in the afternoon and he blew twice the legal limit on the old breathalyzer machine. They took him down to the station, booked him but then let him go free because it was his first offense. The deputies dropped him off a couple of miles from his car that was supposed to be towed.
Twenty minutes later when the deputies went past where Cummings car had been parked they noticed the vehicle was gone. A short time later that same vehicle blew through a DUI checkpoint without stopping. Cummings lead the officers on a short chase with speed reaching 120 MPH. This time the fuzz threw his ass in jail instead of just letting him waltz out after booking.
I understand a tow bill would suck but it doesn’t suck as much as a second DUI along with unlawful flight from a law enforcement vehicle and endangerment.
