That’s the offer currently on the table for Austria’s soccer team in the Euro 2008 tournament. A Vienna brewery has promised a life-time supply of beer for any player from Austria’s team that can score a goal in the remaining group matches.
It’s not going to be easy for Austria, they are the 92nd ranked team in the world and this is the first time they’ve gotten this far. Although, they had a promising 1-0 loss to Croatia on Sunday. Unfortunately, it’s only going to get harder, as Austria faces Poland today (2:30 EST/11:30 PST) and Germany on Monday, both games are being played in Vienna.
I just hope they announcers are aware of this and can adjust accordingly. If Austria ends up scoring in either game, you’ll hear, “BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!”
