Injuries, injuries, injuries. It happens and its happened a lot this season. Tony Romo and Joseph Addai were just the flavor of the week. And personally, I am not that upset because I picked up Dommy Rhodes right away, only to find out later that a tender hammy could keep out Addai for up to 4 weeks (not to mention I told you to sit JoJo). Christmas came early to my Darren McFadden hell.
Last week I told you McNabb was going to dominate even though all his teammates were in street clothes. And he did, with 280 yards, 2 TDs and 1 pick (Winner). I also told you to sit the entire Seattle Seahawks team and I hope you listened as they were only able to muster 177 total yards on offense (Winner). However, Braylon Edwards had an awesome day (Loser) and Zach Miller was merely average (Loser). Season: 13-14-3
Start QB Jeff Garcia: Starter, not a starter, doesn’t really matter. TB has the weapons whoever is at the helm. And more importantly they are playing Seattle’s “unique” style of defense. And most importantly, Mr Garcia is not even a little bit interested in becoming a backup again. Diggles line: 237 passing yards, 15 rushing yards, 2 TDs, 0 Picks.

It’s the heart of injury season and everyone is probable or questionable. It sucks. And it makes it even more important that you sit and start the right guys. Last week I told you to sit Carson Palmer and he was OK at best, but I will call it a loss. I also told you to start Jake Delhomme (Winner), sit Willis McGahee (Winner), sit Heath Miller (Loser), and start Marvin Harrison (Loser). That puts me at a not so awesome 10-12-3 for the season. It’s been a tough fantasy season and my hero is not far above the .500 mark himself, so I am not worried yet.
Start QB Donovan McNabb: I know, his whole team, including himself, is injured. He is fired up though after too many losses and San Fran’s D can give up some points. Diggles line: 250 passing yards, 17 rushing yards, 2 TDs, 1 pick.
Sit Seattle: All of them. Sit all of them. When Koren Robinson might get significant action at wideout and Charlie Frye might be your starting QB you know there is trouble brewing. Seattle’s D was supposed to be their saving grace this year, but they laid an egg against Manning’s giants last week (yes, negative points) and Aaron Rodgers is primed to slice them up. Diggles line: GB 31, SEA 13.
Sit WR Braylon Edwards: See above, the Giants are good and Braylon gets to see them this weekend. They will hit you in the mouth, and that’s not a good sight for a guys who drops the ball. Plus, Derek Anderson only got off 138 passing yards last week, and that was against the worst team in the league. Diggles line: 5 cathes, 52 yards, 0 TDs.
Sit RB Joseph Addai: Baltimore may not win many games, but that has nothing to do with their defense. Mendenhall, 30 yards. Chris Johnson, 44 yards. Jamal Lewis, 56 yards. Chris Perry, 37 yards. And yes, waiver wire gem LeRon McClain has outrushed each and every one of them. Diggles line: 49 rushing yards, 21 receiving yards, 0 TDs.
Start TE Zach Miller: I hate this category. Tight Ends are terrible this year. TERRIBLE. And on top of that Zach has only had one good game this season coming off an arguably over-hypped pre-season. But 1) New Orleans defense ain’t awesome, 2) Miller’s one good game was his most recent game, 3) The Raiders have a decent ground game again, which should ease some pressure over the middle. TE’s have only been OK agaisnt New Orleans, but I think it has been because of a lack of looks, not the Defense. Diggles line: 6 catches, 70 yards, 1 TD.

Last week was tough, this week is tougher. Bye weeks are never fun, but they definitely make it more important to pick-up, sit and start the right people. You are gonna have to find that diamond in the rough this week to beat that opponent who somehow still has all his starters playing.
Let’s check the stats. Last week I told you to start JT O’Sullivan, and while 257 yards and 1 TD ain’t bad, 2 picks is (Push). I also told you to start Reggie Bush (Loser), start Steve Smith (Winner), sit Brian Griese (Winner) and sit Matt Forte (Winner). Season record 8-9-3.
Sit QB Carson Palmer: Yes, I do think he is going to start, but no I don’t think he will finish the game. Dallas is that good, and a 75% Palmer this season with that running back and Mr. Cinco just isn’t going to get it done. Diggles line: 175 yards, 1 TD, 1 pick.
Start QB Jake Delhomme: The boys are back in town. Muhsin and Smith are on fire, KC’s D is porous at best, and the run game is a-runnin. Diggles line: 300 yards, 2 TDs, 0 picks.

Well, maybe this just isn’t my thing. But I am going to keep at it and just by luck I will probably make some good picks eventually. Last week I told you to start Drew Brees and Jay Cutler (Winner), but sit Larry Johnson (Loser). I also told you to sit Bengals combo Housh and Ocho (Halvsies), but start Kellen Winslow (Loser). At least Seattle’s defense was OK against the Rams. Overall record for the season now 5-8-2…
Start QB JT O’Sullivan: Who? Why? Because he has gotten better every game this season. From a QB rating of 80 in game 1, to 106 in game 2 to 123 in game 3. Why else? Because the Saints defense is QB-friendly. The last 2 weeks they have given up 321 yards and 1 TD and 264 yards and 2 TDs, respectively. Diggles line: 258 yards, 2 TDs, 0 picks.
Start RB Reggie Bush: He has had consistently solid starts all year. Plus, the SF defense has given up monster games to Frank Gore, Julias Jones and Rudi Johnson. Diggles line: 63 yards rushing, 85 yards receiving, 1 TD.
Start WR Steve Smith (Car): He is pissed and this time he won’t be taking it out on Ken Lucas. ATL has given up 4 10-point games in the last 3 games, including 3 TDs. And they haven’t seen anyone like Smith yet. Diggles line: 112 yards, 1 TD.
Sit QB Brian Griese: He’s not throwing for 400 yards again. Nor is he throwing for 200 this week. Don’t get crazy. Diggles line: 179 yards, 1 TD, 1 pick.
Sit RB Matt Forte: Did you see what the Philly defense did to Pitt last week? Holy crap, did you see it? Not only did they hold early season stud Willie Parker to 20 yards on 13 carries (yes, that’s 1.5 per), but they knocked him out of the game. Diggles line: 52 yards, 1 TDs.

Ok that’s a lie, last week was terrible. My projections went 1-4 after a solid 3-2 start. That’s what happens when you take risks though. I could have told you the obvious like pick up Darren Sproles, which my Fantasy Football colleague told you to do earlier this week. Really? Should I pick up the guy who had 393 yards of total offense and 2 TDs last week on a team where the best running back in the league might be going down and they have an offensive line who eats more Wheaties than anyone EVER? Thanks for the suggestion… Ok ok, I am bitter, and now 4-5 for the season. The comeback begins now!
- Start QBs Jay Cutler/Drew Brees: They are playing eachother and it is going to be a high scoring one. Both defenses are going to be attacked and will fold early. Unlike my counterpart says, Cutler is NOT trade bait. He is the real deal just like I said in week 1. If somehow you have both, start Elway Cutler. Diggles combined line: 585 yards, 4 TDs, 1 pick.
- Sit WRs Ocho Cinco/TJ Housh: Guess what. This isn’t the week Carson Palmer is going to come out of his funk. And believe me, my fantasy team is feeling it. G-MEN. Diggles combined line: 101 yards, 1 TD.

And Mondays…and sometimes Thursdays. And all the rest of the days, because I can just stare at my fantasy team and waiver wire waiting in anticipation. Redskins v Giants already kicked things off last night with a pretty ugly defensive match-up. And by defense I mean shitty offense. So I hope you didn’t start anybody on either team, except maybe Plaxico Burress, who slightly exceeded expectations. Though, I would be a happy owner of Brandon Jacobs right now. He may not of scored, but given the number of times he bowled people over, I suspect that won’t be a problem down the line.
Sits and Starts: Week 1
Sit RB Ryan Grant: You probably drafted him high, very high, because of his surprising season last year. What you forgot though, is that Brett Favre is gone. Defenses do not yet have to respect the arm of Aaron Rogers, no matter how good his pre-season was. So yes, that means Green Bay will probably run a lot, but it also means teams will be keying in on the run. Ryan Grant will be good once the Packers offense settles in. But not in week 1. And definitely not against Minnesota, the highest drafted defense in the league. Diggles Line: 73 yards rushing, 0 touchdowns, 12 yards receiving.
